Hi, I’m Rachel Hannagan.

I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP), certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in New Jersey. For my undergraduate career, I attended Stockton University and earned my Bachelors of Science with a concentration in
Communication Disorders. I then attended graduate school and earned my Master of Science in Communication Disorders at Stockton University.
My passion for early childhood and the pediatric population is evident in my experience: I’ve
worked with infants, children and adolescents across multiple settings such as early intervention,
outpatient clinics, elementary schools, and middle schools. I have had the pleasure of primarily
working with autistic individuals which has provided me with knowledge and experience implementing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to foster autonomy and empower individuals to communicate their needs. I also have experience providing treatment for speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, and fluency disorders.
I consider myself to be a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, meaning I embrace and celebrate
the unique ways individuals think, learn, and communicate. This involves recognizing that
neurodivergent individuals may have different communication styles and that these differences are not deficits. As an SLP, my role is to create an inclusive, respectful space where my clients feel valued for who they are, rather than trying to “fix” them to fit societal norms. My approach
fosters self-advocacy, confidence, and a deep sense of belonging. Foremost, I prioritize building strong rapport with my clients and families.
In my free time I enjoy singing, spending time with my dogs and cats, going to the beach, and
trying new places to eat!
