Hi, I’m Olivia Hagen.
I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) dedicated to making a difference. I am certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and am licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Kentucky. I have gained years of experience working with children and adults in outpatient clinics, hospitals, public and private schools, home health, and through teletherapy. I graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and obtained a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Kentucky University.
Speech-language pathology is my passion. I love being an SLP because it allows me to serve children and their families by helping, encouraging and empowering them to effectively and confidently communicate. I enjoy working within all areas of the field of speech-language pathology, but my favorites to treat are developmental disorders like autism, expressive and receptive language delays, speech sound disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and gestalt-language processors.
As an SLP, I prioritize forming relationships with my patients and families built on communication and trust. I believe that collaborating with caregivers and other professionals and fostering a positive relationship between my patients and their caretakers is a key component to making progress in therapy. Stepping into my therapy room, I strive to make therapy fun, motivating and engaging while also addressing specific and individualized goals. I believe that children learn best through play and in natural settings. I also strive to celebrate neurological differences, abilities, and strengths in all of my patients.
I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my patients and their families as an SLP at Thrive Pediatric Therapy. I look forward to working with you and your child and am eager to help your child’s speech and language skills thrive!
